Brothers and Sisters,
Over the past several days there have been several heated discussions on social media regarding this union and its officers.
First, the board would like to say that we agree that no one should have brought the family of one of our honored fallen into these discussions. The board humbly apologizes for our role in those discussions and we will do better in the future.
One theme during the discussions was very clear. You, the membership, feel that we have not communicated well with you, and you are right. We have not communicated in a clear and consistent manner. Therefore over the next two weeks, we will be updating our website to provide a more consistent and easily accessible communication platform. Once the changes are completed we will provide an update to you as to how to access information such as the meeting calendar, meeting agendas, and applicable minutes. We are also investigating a complete redesign of the website to modernize the look, feel and usability of the website going forward.
Once the changes to the website are live we will be posting all updates, agendas, minutes, and schedules to the website. All information will be available through the website for our members. We will no longer be posting updates on the Facebook page which has lead to inconsistent notices and sharing of information. We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause but feel that by posting the information in one consistent location and, having the system email our members when a new update is posted, will provide a more consistent and clear communication platform going forward and all members will know exactly where to look to access information needed to make informed decisions and to participate in this union to the full extent they are able.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
